A domestic swimming pool is usually constructed from concrete, with a tiled or liner finish. The pool is typically rectangular, but can be any shape. The first step is to excavate the site to the required depth, which is usually around 1.2m-1.5m. The area will need to be excavated a little larger than the finished depth and width of the pool to allow sufficient space for the concrete wall and frame.

You will usually only fill your pool once after it has been installed. However, you may need to occasionally add a small amount of water using a garden hose to compensate for any water lost through evaporation and backwashing.
